Bringing the trailer home

Prepped the site and backed the trailer in today. There was the usual last minute frantic re-measuring and changes, but overall things went pretty smoothly. The driveways was TIGHT, but the only real casualties were a row of Hellebores that should pop back up eventually.

Before backing in we dug the wheel locations to bare earth and leveled them with a thin layer of sand and concrete blocks. Honestly I’m skeptical the blocks do anything useful beyond just making the trailer taller, but they look legit at least. We also set some beefy concrete blocks under the trailer jack locations.

We’ll probably start building on the leveling jacks because they make leveling simple during the framing stage, then switch to blocking as more weight is added to the trailer.

Thanks to friends who helped out today!
