Spent the day pricing lumber and looking at siding profiles. One of the most frustrating parts of any building project, in my opinion, is the amount of time and gas spent driving around sourcing material. Or even worse, researching material. But the truth is that sometimes you need to see and touch something in person while still in the planning phase, which means an extra research trip (or many extra research trips).
Today was a bit of a wash, though I was able to confirm that a single piece prefab shower will work, and source a model for that. Also came home with some birch ply to do paint and finish tests with before we commit to it for the interior paneling. Siding, though, was hopeless. All the material we saw was terrible – time to find a new source.
